Our Story
The Laurel Highlands Bluegrass Festival was originally founded by the Ligonier Township Volunteer Fire Department #1 in the early 2000s as a way to celebrate music, bring the community together, and support local emergency services. For years, it served as a beloved tradition for bluegrass fans and families alike. However, like many events, the festival was put on hold for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2024, with a renewed sense of purpose and excitement, the department set out to revive the tradition in a fresh and meaningful way—launching the newly reimagined Ligonier Valley Bluegrass Festival. This updated version not only honors the spirit of the original but also introduces new elements designed to enhance the experience for both longtime attendees and first-time visitors, all while keeping the focus on community, music, and family-friendly fun.

The Plan

No matter if you’re joining us for just a day or planning to stay the whole weekend, your camping experience is in great hands. All camping arrangements are thoughtfully coordinated and managed by the hardworking and dedicated team at the Ligonier Township Volunteer Fire Department #1. Their commitment ensures a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable stay for all our guests.
